Frequently asked questions.
ABOUT OUR BEEF
Where do you get your meat from?
My dad. I’m literally the Rancher’s Daughter.
What makes your beef different?
Our cattle are 100% pasture-raised and grass-fed on Kaua‘i. We raise them the old-school way—naturally, harvested locally, and dry-aged 3–4 weeks for better flavor and tenderness.
Our family has been ranching on Kaua‘i since 1886—passed down generation to generation.
Is your beef dry-aged? How long?
Yes—3–4 weeks (most weeks right around 4 weeks). We dry-age the traditional way in halves using our family’s methods passed down through generations. Click here to Learn more about the Timeless art of beef aging.
Do you use hormones or antibiotics?
No.
Do you grass-finish or grain-finish?
Grass-finished. Pasture raised. No feedlot, no grain finishing. They eat grass that grows naturally from Hawai‘i soil.
Where is the beef harvested and processed?
Right here on Kaua‘i at our family’s facility: Andrade Slaughterhouse (USDA inspected).
BUYING + AVAILABILITY
Do you sell whole, half, or quarter cows?
Most people asking this really just want to stock the freezer. We make that easy—order the cuts you want online (Butcher Shop tab) and pick up at Minnie’s Mercantile in Kalaheo.
We cut one dry-aged animal per week, so cuts go fast. If you want specific cuts (especially steaks), reserve online. Here at our Butcher Shop
How do I buy your beef?
Two ways:
Shop in-store at Minnie’s Mercantile during open hours (first come, first served).
Reserve online in the Butcher Shop tab. You’ll get an email when your order is ready for pickup.
When do you restock?
Every Thursday. We restock the online Butcher Shop and stock Minnie’s with fresh cuts from that week. Cuts sell out—don’t wait.
Do you always have steaks?
We have steaks every week, but steaks are only about 20% of the whole animal—so they’re limited and they go fast. Reserve ahead or come early.
How does online ordering work?
The reserve window runs Tuesday–Monday at 12:00 midnight (cutoff for that week). We restock online every Thursday with that week’s availability.
Order online → we prep it → you get an email when it’s ready → you pick up at Minnie’s.
How much cost for one cow?
I don’t sell whole cows. If you’re trying to fill your freezer, shop by cuts. A monthly stock-up for most families is around $300–$400.

Do you ship beef?
No—beef is local pickup only at Minnie’s Mercantile (Kaua‘i). We do ship our Apothecary products (tallow skincare and ranch-made goods).
Do you sell organ meats?
Yes, we keep in stock: liver, kidney, heart. We also offer Primal blends of ground Steer burger and Bison burger: 10% liver + 90% ground.
Do you have bones for bone broth?
Yes—broth bones: knuckle + marrow bones for making the perfect broth. Get my bone broth guide and recipe here. https://www.ranchers-daughters-reserve.com/blog/bone-broth-for-the-fall
How long does beef keep in my freezer?
A year, easy—if it’s vacuum-sealed and kept frozen properly.
Do you sell anything besides beef?
Yes, we also carry local pastured lamb, pork, chicken, bison, and fresh eggs—plus local honey, fresh baked banana bread, microgreens, bone broth, rendered tallow and raw dog food. Availability changes week to week, so if you want something specific, check the shop or ask during store hours.

Q: Do you offer ranch tours?
A: No. We’re not a tourist company—we’re a real working ranch.
Q: Where are your cows?
